Megi Xhumari is a PhD candidate in Social Work and Social Policy at the Department of Social Work and Social Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tirana, Albania, where she has been teaching since 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work and Social Policy from the University of Tirana, and a Master’s and Post-Master diploma in Advanced Social Work from Springfield College, Massachusetts, USA.
Since 2015, she has also served as Programme Coordinator at Bethany Social Services, a civil society organisation providing community-based services for vulnerable children and families. Her academic and professional work focuses on social protection, migration, and social inclusion, with particular attention to the impact of demographic change and digital transformation on access to services and participation for vulnerable groups, including older populations. She has contributed to international research and policy-oriented projects with organisations such as UNICEF, World Vision, and Terre des Hommes, and has presented and published in international forums on issues related to social inclusion, ageing, and inclusive social systems.
