Urbaniak has been involved in studies related to ageing, the labour market and HR management. She has worked as a researcher and academic teacher for over 50 years. Even after retiring, she continues to work with the university, giving lectures. She is the author or co-author of over 200 scientific papers. She is also a member of the Committee on Labour Science and Social Policy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
